Welcome to a fantastic 6-day adventure in the picturesque landscapes of Gangtok, Lachen, and Lachung! I’m your seasoned tour guide, and I’m here to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. Our 5 nights 6 days Gangtok Lachen and Lachung itinerary is coded as “GANGTOK (1),” and here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
Day 1: Arrival in Gangtok
Our journey begins at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), where our friendly representative will be eagerly waiting to welcome you. We’ll then embark on a scenic 4-hour drive (approximately 130 km) to reach Gangtok. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to explore the nearby markets at your leisure.
Day 2: Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll start our day at around 8-8:30 am with a visit to the enchanting Tsomgo Lake, nestled at an altitude of 12,400 feet. This sacred lake is a true natural wonder, transforming its appearance with each season, from snow-covered winter to vibrant spring blooms. Your journey will also take you to Baba Harbhajan Mandir, dedicated to the brave Indian soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh, who is revered in Sikkim’s history. We’ll return to Gangtok after this memorable excursion. Note: You can also opt for an additional visit to Nathula Pass, one of the world’s highest drivable roads connecting Sikkim and China.
Day 3: Gangtok to Lachen via Scenic Stops
Our adventure continues as we depart from Gangtok after breakfast. We’ll set off early and make stops at Singhik View Point, Seven Sister Water Falls, and Chungthang, all offering breathtaking views. Our destination is Lachen, a charming mountain village perched at an elevation of 8,800 feet, near the Tibetan border. After arriving in Lachen, you’ll check into your hotel and enjoy a delicious dinner. Rest well for the night in this serene location.
Day 4: Gurudongmar Lake Excursion and Journey to Lachung
Following breakfast, we’ll check out from our Lachen hotel and head out to explore Gurudongmar Lake. This journey will take us to a valley at an altitude of 11,800 feet, where the holy Gurudongmar Lake is nestled amidst snow-covered peaks. The lake holds significance for Sikhs, Buddhists, and Hindus alike. After our visit, we’ll continue our journey to Lachung, a region known for its lush Rhododendron Forest. Upon arrival in Lachung, you’ll check in at your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 5: Yumthang Valley Excursion and Return to Gangtok
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll check out from our Lachung hotel and drive up to 11,800 feet above sea level to reach Yumthang Valley, also known as “The Valley of A river, different wildlife, Rhododendron flowers, and rolling meadows may all be found in this natural sanctuary, which is bordered by the magnificent Himalayan mountains. After a memorable excursion, we’ll return to Gangtok and check in at our hotel for the night. Optional: You can request an additional tour to Zero Point at 15,300 feet, the last outpost of civilization.
Day 6: Departure from Gangtok
On our final day, we’ll start with a delicious breakfast, followed by check-out procedures. We’ll arrange your transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB) according to your travel plans.
